A birth circle is a gathering of women. It's a chance to meet people, to share experience and to ask questions about the journey to motherhood in a supportive, pluralistic environment. It’s an opportunity to tell your birth story and be heard, to process your birth story in new ways, to listen to a a range of experiences as you prepare to birth your baby, to ask questions about birth, babies and parenting, to connect with other pregnant and new moms in the community, and maybe meet some birth professionals as well. Each of JBN's monthly birth circles is hosted by a co-sponsoring institution in different locations around the Boston area and is focussed around a theme. August's Theme: Control - Who (if anyone) is in control throughout the birth process? How much control can we maintain? Is letting go a necessary part of the process? How is the birth experience affected by our attitudes toward authority and autonomy? Read more at www.JewishBirthNetwork.com/birth-circles.html

The Jewish Birth Network |
The Jewish Birth Network sees birth, experienced as miraculous, empowering families to make confident, thoughtful, individual Jewish parenting choices. By helping emerging families learn about birth in general and in a Jewish context, create networks of support, and forge relationships with supportive birth professionals, we hope to invigorate the community with a generation of Jewish children raised in a diverse community of confident, engaged Jewish parents.
